Not long ago we were invited to visit the Dmitrov Branch of VTB 24, and as a result of our meeting with the bank's employees and managers, we decided to organise a Maslenitsa Festival for our children. On Sunday, March 6, 2011, 15 guests with loads of nice things to eat came to our studio. The girls from VTB 24 rolled their sleeves up and the work began. Under the girls' supervision several children made mountains of pancakes, other filled them with different fillings, other chatted with their new friends the bankers, and the most senior children took photographs and had fun :)
When everyone was seated (there were so many people that there was barely enough chairs and cups :)), Vladimir Super, Head of Dmitrov Branch of VTB 24, told the children briefly about the principles of a bank's work, about bank cards and credits. Some of the children are going to leave the boarding school this year and this information is very important for them.
After this, Dasha I., who had already met our children, said a few words about Maslenitsa, and the merry feast began :)
When the feast ended, it was time to make a rag doll – the Maslenitsa. Having finished the work, we went into the countryside, where snowmobiles, four-wheelers, and sledges were already waiting for us. In small groups we were driven to the lower part of the Volen slopes, where our rag doll was burned. It should be noted that the doll's burning did not impress the children: because there were such interesting machines around! The children ran around and around: from the four-wheeler to the queue for the snowmobile, and then to the sledges which they carried with them to the top of the hill, then slid down and ran to the snowmobile again... From everywhere, delighted shouts could be heard: ''How cool!!! How wonderful!!! And now I'm riding! I want more!'' The most ''advanced mathematicians'' were boasting : ''I rode the four-wheeler 4 times, and the snowmobile 3 times. Now I must go and slide down on the sledges.'' In this manner, the following hour and a half passed, the sun began to come down, and the time for parting came.
On behalf of our children, we thank Vladimir Super, Head of Dmitrov Branch of VTB 24, all the employees who came to visit us and organised a feast for the orphans. Special thanks to Dasha I., her husband and their friends for such a wonderful adventure holiday!
We want to specially thank Genbank, our primary sponsor: it helps us in many ways to work for the children, even in those hard times.
